冬至是中國傳統民間節日之一，民間有「冬至大如年」的說法。在台灣冬至通稱「冬節」，吃湯圓是南方最主要的民俗、而在北方則是吃水餃、並祭拜家中供奉諸神和地基主。湯圓則象徵圓滿、團圓；水餃則象徵富貴、財源。因此人事室特在冬至佳節，依南方習俗方式，與師長同仁們在歡樂聲中一起吃湯圓，象徵學校這一大家庭所有成員，事事圓滿、富貴福澤、人人平安，更能歡喜圓善緣。
